It’s important that you know me, but I’m also intrigued to learn about you too!
- Why do you want a website?
- How successful is your business/product currently?
- Where do you see your business in 2-3 years time?
- Have you any timeline on the website being built?
This is because learning about your business is important too! I’d love you to become my customer, but also want to make sure that you are getting a website for the right reasons – and that I’m the right designer for your own ambitions.
Once you feel ready to purchase a website, I generally arrange a meeting in person or via Skype/Zoom. This is a quick 10-15 minute meeting where we will learn more about each other.
Which other websites do you like?
Who are your main competitors and why?
What information/text have you already got about your business?
Have you got any photos and how do I get a copy?
Is there anything you can do for free which can help your company grow?
Once the meeting is over and you have paid the initial money upfront, I begin to start on your website by moving your address (domain) onto my server.
I also add a MySQL database onto the hosting, so I can go ahead and install your Content Management System (CMS). For all websites I use WordPress which is a great easy-to-use but most importantly adaptable system which you will come to love.
Designing your website to something which suits your needs is vitally important to me, I want you to love your website as much as your visitors will.
Throughout the process, I will send you photos over WhatsApp/Email – which will give you a chance to provide feedback etc. I always ask clients are open and provide constructive critique where they feel neccessary.
It’s important to test your new website, as there will be numerous links and plugins – so we check to make sure everything works. At this stage you will see the website live for the first time and test it for yourself.
This is your last chance to provide feedback before the website is launched to the public.
YOUR WEBSITE IS LIVE! This is the most exciting part of purchasing a web-design, as you can now show it off to all your potential clients. Remember a website doesn’t grow by itself, it’s really important to share links on social media and tell people in person.
I will also offer a meeting, where I will be able to show you how to login to WordPress and edit the website by yourself. The system enables you to edit pages by simply typing in the text or changing the images (aslong as they are the same size preferably), you don’t need to know advanced website coding.
What happens if you struggle to edit the website after launch or need to add more pages? It’s not a problem, I’m happy to provide support whenever you need me.
If its just a simple 5-10 minute job, I will even do it out of courtesy and not charge you for it – as thanks for your web-design purchase.
